750 pupils enter health contract with Club Brugge mascot and players19 September 22
SCORING FOR HEALTH
Last week, Bibi, the Club Brugge mascot, paid an unexpected visit to all classes that are enrolled in the Foundation project Scoring for Health, which involves 750 pupils. In this project, the pupils enter into a contract with the players of the first team to live healthier: more exercise and healthier food. The Club Brugge Foundation provides a ready-made teaching package for the participating schools.
SIGNING A CONTRACT WITH PLAYERS FROM CLUB BRUGGE
As part of this project, Bibi visited all classes at the end of last week to personally hand over the contract, signed by Vanaken, Nielsen and Rits, among others, to the pupils. They each signed a contract with the players confirming their motivation to exercise more and eat healthier. How will they do this? Through the Club Brugge Foundation curriculum, they will learn all about healthy living in 15 lessons, both theoretical and practical.
“Were the pupils surprised? Without a doubt! As soon as the mascot bear Bibi appeared, we saw a lot of surprised, happy and enthusiastic faces.”Teacher Kim from Sacred Heart School
“As an extra, before every lesson we try to send a fun and personal video of one of the first team players to the teacher to show during the lesson. That way we try to motivate them even more by setting a good example and letting them hear the golden advice of the players.”Barbara, Club Brugge Foundation project supervisor.
So this school year’s Scoring for Health project was officially kicked off with a visit from Bibi and the signing of the contracts. As icing on the cake, the pupils received a personal message from Hans Vanaken to motivate them and wish them success! The lessons start immediately with a fun practical lesson: the kick-off in the Jan Breydel Stadium where the pupils will take sports tests, get a workshop on healthy food and of course they can have fun in the fundorp with bouncy castles and much more.
